Howard Woolf
Director of the ExCollege and Associate Dean, Undergraduate Education
Howard has been part of the ExCollege since the 80s. During his tenure, he’s worked closely with his colleagues on the Board and staff of the ExCollege to ensure a rich stream of Visiting Lecturer courses each semester, while taking a special interest in one of the ExCollege’s signature programs: peer teaching. Over the years, Howard helped launch such programs as EPIIC (now the centerpiece of the Institute for Global Leadership), TEDxTufts, and The Robyn Gittleman Graduate Teaching Fellows. With degrees in American Studies and English – and special training as a filmmaker and photographer – Howard also founded and directed TuftsFilmWorks, the university’s film production initiative, which has now become part of the Film and Media Studies major. Howard sits on the Arts and Sciences Educational Policy Committee and the Film and Media Studies Executive Board.
