Visiting Lecturer Opportunities: How To Apply

How we select our instructors and courses

Proposals are reviewed by members of the Tufts faculty from appropriate departments, references are solicited, and the large majority of applicants receive an interview conducted by two students and a faculty member. The Board of the Experimental College evaluates all the information generated and makes the final selection. Over the last few years, we have averaged more than 100 proposals each semester, all of which are competing for roughly twenty available slots.

Interested in teaching? Call us at 617-627-3384, or fill out a brief form to download our application.  Please specify whether you are a prospective visiting lecturer or a returning lecturer (if you have proposed and/or taught this course at the ExCollege within the last 5 years).

If you are a current Tufts Faculty or Staff member and you are interested in teaching with the Experimental College please contact or call (617) 627-3384.

– Visiting Lecturer applications are due October 10, 2014, for the Spring 2015 semester.

Peer-Teaching applications are due October 31, 2014.

For assistance in completing the application, please see this model of a previously selected course proposal. While some personal information has been redacted, it should serve as a helpful guide.
