News & Events: Expo

Spring 2007

At the conclusion of each spring semester, students in ExCollege classes come together for an evening of refreshments, music and friendship to show their final class projects to their peers. Roommates, friends and members of the Tufts community are all invited for this exciting evening.

The first floor of Miner Hall is reserved for displays, films, and computer programs so that everyone can move from display to display and room to room to see what is being exhibited. Everyone is given the opportunity to talk to and ask questions of the students and instructors of the individual classes. Both students and faculty are always eager to explain the work that went into each project and how they came to their conclusion.

In 2007, the class on the Supreme Court had prepared a quiz to test your knowledge of the Supreme Court, while the Speech Recognition class ran their programs for us all to hear. The class on Global Warming played a video that several members of the class designed and filmed that showed the affects of global warming. Others in that class had made books for children to help them understand the larger issues while the class on philanthropy showed the oversized check presented to each community organization in lieu of the real check they would eventually receive.
